Police make meth, heroin and cocaine arrests

WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) Police in Warsaw took three varieties of drugs off the city’s streets in several arrests Wednesday.

In one arrest, police following a complaint in the Barbee Lake area around 6:30 p.m. found a man outside a home at 50 EMS B4 Lane. An investigation led to the discovery of more than a gram of finished meth, several one-pot meth labs, meth-making ingredients and multiple firearms, according to a release from the Warsaw Police Department. A child was at the home at the time and Child Protective Services was contacted.

Police arrested Tracy Bickel, 54, of Leesburg on charges of felony dealing methamphetamine, possession of meth, possession of precursors and maintaining a common nuisance, which all stand to be enhanced because a child and firearms were present, the department said. Carrie Schambers, 47, of Leesburg was charged with neglect of a dependent, maintaining a common nuisance and felony possession of methamphetamine. Police said she tried to hide meth in her pants.

Less than six hours later, Warsaw Police undercover narcotics officers staged a buy of heroin. During a traffic stop afterward, then, officers found heroin and cocaine – loads police said came from Chicago, according to the release.

Police arrested Brian Richardson, 27, of Warsaw on charges of felony dealing in a narcotic, possession of a narcotic and possession of cocaine; Cecilia Torres, 20, of Warsaw on felony dealing in a narcotic, possession of a narcotic after five bags of heroin were retrieved from a body orifice and possession of a controlled substance; and Lindsey Fremault, 23, of Warsaw was charged with felony dealing in a narcotic.

Every person arrested was being held in the Kosciusko County Jail.
