Public meeting planned on Indiana Dunes pavilion project

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) – Indiana Dunes Tourism plans a public meeting to address concerns about a restoration and expansion project involving Indiana Dunes pavilion.

The (Munster) Times reports that the meeting will be in Valparaiso on Thursday. It will include a 30-minute presentation by Pavilion Partners LLC, which is the investment group behind the $3 million to $4 million project. The project has included a banquet center, which opponents have said violates federal law because the center would be available for private, non-recreational use.

The state of Indiana has approved the project.

The meeting will include time for supporters and opponents to ask questions and comment. Indiana Dunes Tourism will ask Pavilion Partners representatives questions for the remaining 30 minutes.
