INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two teenagers are in custody and a third person is on the run after police say the three carjacked a woman and then led police on a chase.

The chase ended around 2 a.m. Thursday at East Michigan Street and Wallace Avenue, just west of Emerson Avenue.

Police say the chase ended when the three lost control of the car and crashed into a utility pole. Officers say two teens in the car were hurt and were taken into custody. They say the third person in the car took off.

Officers say the three carjacked a woman at the intersection of Vandamen and Orange streets, just south of Prospect Street on the southeast side. They say the three then drove northeast.

Police say they spotted the car and started pursuing it. The three lost control about three miles away. Two of the three suspects are under the age of 18. One of those suspects was injured in the crash. The other two were not.

The crash knocked down a IPL utility pole. According to the IPL outage map, there were about 200 homes without power after the crash. It’s unclear if that outage is because of the storms or this crash.

If you have any information, police ask that you call their Crime Stoppers tip line at 317-262-TIPS.
