3 children remain hospitalized following Tuesday crash

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Three children remained hospitalized after a minivan and semi collided on Tuesday morning in Bartholomew County.

The crash happened on U.S. 31 near Lowell Road on Tuesday.

According to police, three children were injured when a semi driving traveling west on Lowell Road attempted to cross the southbound lanes of U.S. 31 and collided with the van that was heading south.

The children were listed in critical condition but stable condition at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

According to 24-Hour News 8’s partners at the Seymour Tribune, the driver of the minivan was identified as 50-year-old Ana Mateo. The driver of the semi was identified as David Griel.

Neither of the drivers were injured in the crash.
