Teen’s documentary about nut allergy to play at Indy Film Fest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A teen with ties to Indianapolis has turned his own diagnosis into a teaching tool for others.

Jack Yonover, 13, was diagnosed three years ago with a life-threatening allergy to tree nuts.

The Chicago teen decided to make a documentary about the little-understood condition.

He raised $10,000 for equipment, wrote the script and used four young people form Indianapolis in the film, titled “That Bites.”

The film was selected for viewing at the Indy Film Fest, taking place July 25 at the Indianapolis Art Museum.

It won best student documentary at the Manhattan Film Festival earlier this month.
