Peyton Manning visits Chattanooga shooting site

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WISH) — Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning visited the military facility where five service members were recently shot and killed in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Chattanooga Police Department tweeted a photo with the caption: “Thank you for stopping by and for your support Peyton Manning.”

Manning is seen in the photo standing next to an unnamed police officer.

WATE reports Manning visited the second of the two shooting locations, the Naval Marine Corps Reserve Center on Amnicola Highway, Saturday evening.

The former Indianapolis Colts player was an All-American quarterback at the University of Tennessee.

Four Marines and one Navy sailor died when a gunman opened fire at the facility Thursday morning.

The shooting prompted Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to authorize Indiana National Guard members to arm themselves at armories and recruiting facilities.
