Johnson Co. deputies cleared in officer involved shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department cleared two Johnson County deputies of any wrong doing during a police action shooting earlier in July.

The shooting took place on the south side of Indianapolis on July 9.

Officers responded to the 8000 block of Bluff Road. That’s near West Stop 11 and Morgantown roads. Two Johnson County deputies approached a white pick-up truck near the park.

At some point an IMPD spokesman says the suspect made an aggressive movement toward the deputies. That’s when the deputies fired shots.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the two deputies were cleared of any wrong doing and would be returning to their patrol duties this week.
