Coroner: 2 bodies found in woods identified as Gary brothers

HOBART, Ind. (AP) – A coroner says two teens whose decomposed bodies were found in woods in northwest Indiana have been identified as brothers from Gary.

Lake County Coroner Merrilee Frey says the bodies were identified through dental records as 18-year-old Arreon Lackey and 16-year-old Antonio Lackey. She tells The (Munster) Times that they were reported missing several weeks ago.

Hobart police say officers were called Friday to a wooded property about 10 miles southeast of Gary after the skeletal remains were found by fishermen. Frey says each brother had a single gunshot wound, and their deaths were ruled homicides.
