COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Five teenagers were detained but left in the custody of an adult after allegedly throwing rocks or eggs at a vehicle from an overpass.
50-year-old Carolee Harless was stopped on I-65 near mile marker 67 and was approached by and Indiana State Police Trooper.
Harless said her vehicle was struck by either rocks or eggs when she traveled under the County Road 200 South overpass.
She said that she saw three boys throwing the items and a dark-colored passenger car on the overpass.
Investigators found a gray Toyota pulling into a residence on Sunflower Court and witnessed several subjects quickly exit the vehicle and run to the back of the residence.
Five teenage males were detained and then left in the custody of the adult at the residence.
Upon completion of a report, ISP will forward findings onto the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
