SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — A one of a kind parade was in Speedway Thursday night.
What is great about the Hauler Parade is when it stops is when the fun begins.
With horns honking and lights flashing, the annual Hauler Parade kicked off events for this week’s Brickyard 400.
“I’ve never been able to get to trucks like this, this is awesome,” said fan Leona Hanus.
It’s a parade where the tires are tall, pictures are plenty, and truck drivers are stars.
“NASCAR is one of my favorite sports,” said young fan Gavin Farley. “I watch almost every Brickyard.”
It is an experience unlike any other.
“It gives a chance for the fans to kind of walk up, see the trailers,” said Andy Quillan, a truck driver for #88 Nationwide. “(They get to) meet the drivers because most parades we’re going like 20 miles per hour, and it’s like, okay, there goes the trailer, but this gives them the chance to walk up and talk to the drivers.”
Even for fans who’ve traveled to races near and far, this Hauler Parade is a fan favorite.
“This is great,” said Hanus.
