Partnership with LeBron James, Warner Bros. hints at ‘Space Jam’ sequel

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — NBA superstar LeBron James has a new deal. It’s not with his team – it’s with Warner Bros.

The studio says they are partnering with James’ entertainment company – called Springhill. The deal includes projects for television, film and original digital content.

James has a high-profile supporting role in the new movie “Trainwreck.” And film critics are praising his performance.

Which had many wondering, would a Space Jam sequel be inevitable?

Last month Warner Bros. filed new trademarks for “Space Jam.” A report in February 2014 said the studio was working on a screenplay.

No official announcement has been made that James would star in the sequel or if Warner Bros. was really working on the project.

The original film came out in 1996 – and starred Michael Jordan alongside Looney Toons characters, including Bugs Bunny.
