18-year-old arrested in shooting death of 16-year-old

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An 18-year-old is behind bars, awaiting felony charges related to the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy.

Demetrius Woodson of Indianapolis was arrested in connection to a recent shooting in the 9100 block of East 39th Place.

Investigators said that officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched for a shots fired call, but were told a person was shot while en route.

Officers arrived to find the 16-year-old victim shot.

He was transported to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health where he later died.

Woodson could face multiple felony charges.
