WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A juvenile female was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after an overnight crash on U.S. 231 and State Road 26 in Tippecanoe County.

Both Purdue and West Lafayette police responded to the crash that was called in just after midnight Tuesday.

The female’s car was found totaled in a ditch next to the northbound lane of U.S. 231. Police say the young woman was conscious but unable to tell them what happened.

Her injuries were severe enough for first responders to request airlift transportation.

Police will continue investigating what may have caused the crash.

No one else was injured.
