Annual event helps area kids going back to school

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It’s almost time for area schools to get back into session.

One local annual event looks equip kids with some necessary school supplies and medical checkups as they head back to the classroom.

Back to School Family Day put on by the Marion County Health department provides free dental, vision and other health screenings free of charge.

Kids that make it out for Back to School Family Day will also have the opportunity to learn about fire safety.

Each student will also receive a backpack filled with school supplies.

Dick Wolfsie stopped by to check out the annual event that has helped countless area school children over the years.

The event took place at the Marion County Public Health Department in the 3800 block of North Rural Street.
