INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A company founded by actress Jessica Alba is facing backlash over its sunscreen.

“The Honest Company” sells eco-friendly products for babies and adults.

Several customers posted pictures online, showing sunburns after they say they used the brand’s sunscreen.

The company issued a statement saying in part, “The Honest Company is committed to providing safe and effective products, and we take all consumer feedback very seriously”

The company also said the sunscreen meets FDA standards.

However, after an investigation by NBC Chicago they found that the company dropped the percentage of zinc oxide to 9.3 percent. The FDA requires sunscreen products to used up to 25 percent. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
