Names released in deadly Lafayette shooting

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette Police have confirmed that two people are dead after a shooting on Perrine Street early Tuesday morning.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Aaron Tyrone Hunter, Jr. 36, and Terry L. Smith, Jr., 46.  in the front yard of the home. Medics took the victims to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Officers located shell casings and a firearm believed to be involved in the incident. Detectives are currently processing the scene for evidence. They have not identified a suspect.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department.
