Marian Univ. and IPS partnering to plan pipeline of leaders

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Marian University and Indianapolis Public Schools are teaming up to form a new partnership.

The newly announced partnership will prepare the next generation of IPS principals and school administrators.

There have been 16 IPS teachers that have already started the program.

“Having great leaders is vital for us because we have changed leadership in many of our schools. I just shared, that you know, that my first couple months we were non-renewing over 20 school administrators. We had the same process this year and we need a strong succession plan, a pipeline of leaders,” said IPS Superintendent, Lewis Ferebee.

Within the next five years, IPS hopes to enroll as many as 30 teachers in Marian University’s Academy for Teaching and Learning Leadership.
