Running game boosted with addition of Gore

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — The Colts running game has struggled mightily over the past few seasons.

In the Andrew Luck era, Colts backs have produced a single 100 yard rushing game.

The addition of Frank Gore in the offseason gives the team a legitimate shot at the balanced offense they’ve hoped for.

“He looks great,” said Colts head coach Chuck Pagano.

“I’m here to come and do the best that I can and be the best player that I can be in every phase of the game: blocking, catching and running,” said Gore. “I want to do some good things here.”

Pagano credits Gore’s offseason workouts for his longevity and productivity in the league.

“When everybody else is in the offseason traveling to the Bahamas or Aruba and going here and going there and getting on boats and doing things like that, that guy is down in Miami grinding,” said Pagano.

The last Colt to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season was Joseph Addai in 2007.
