Study says chilly workplaces based on men

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – If a new study got its way, women in the workplace might be less chilly.

A study in the journal Nature Climate Change looked at energy use in workplaces. According to the authors, the temperature inside offices has, by and large, been driven by the metabolic rate of men.

The study’s authors urge a reduction in “gender-discriminating bias” in determining office temperatures, which would also decrease energy consumption.
