2 different mosquito samples test positive for West Nile virus in Vigo County

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vigo County Health Department has reported that two sample pools of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus in Vigo County.

This is the first report in Vigo County for this season.

To date, ISDH has tested 90,350 mosquitoes divided into 1,150 pools from 86 counties.

There have been 30 pools testing positive for the West Nile virus, from 16 counties (Blackford, Clinton, Delaware, Elkhart, Hamilton, Hancock, Montgomery, Morgan, Orange, Perry, Ripley, Shelby, Vanderburgh, Vigo, Wabash and Wells).
