INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Three suspects have been arrested following a shooting that injured two people on the city’s northeast side, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

IMPD responded to the 1400 block of Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday night around 11:30 for the report of two people shot. Police say 40-year-old Armando Basillo and 32-year-old Alejandro Aranda were found shot. They were both taken to the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in stable condition.

Just 10 minutes later police were sent to the 300 block of Temple Avenue. Police say 19-year-old Damon Jones was uncooperative and was suffering from a gunshot wound. Jones was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in stable condition and released into police custody.

Police entered the home on Temple Avenue and found two men hiding inside the house. They were identified as 22-year-old Moses Davis and 22-year-old David Melvin. Police also found shell casings and narcotic paraphernalia in the home.

Melvin and Davis were arrested. All three were preliminarily charged with battery.

Police believe the motive was robbery.

A photo of Melvin was not available.
