Massive 800-pound shark caught off S.C. island
OLLY BEACH, SC (WNCN) – An angler caught a huge 800 pound shark off the Folly Beach coast Saturday.
As beach goers continue to hear stories of sharks along the east coast this summer this story will add to their uneasiness to enter the water.PHOTOS: Shark caught off SC island
The tiger shark that Mike Huff caught is 800-pounds and 13-foot long, according to the Post and Courier of Charleston. The big shark was caught less than a mile off the beach.
A rash of attacks and bites from up and down the North Carolina and South Carolina coast this summer have fed into the fear of entering the ocean.
Folly Beach is a town located on Folly Island, just outside Charleston.
