Farmer found dead after falling from tractor

PAULDING, Ohio (WANE) – Emergency personnel in Paulding, Ohio responded to a call of a body lying in a field Wednesday evening near the intersection of Road 137 and Road 118.

When crews arrived on the scene they found Richard L. Ross, 75, had fallen from his open-cab tractor and was struck by an attachment he was pulling.

Ross was pronounced dead at the scene.

“My thoughts are with the Ross family at this time,” said Sheriff Jason K. Landers. “It is believed Ross may have experienced a health issue that caused his fall, as there is no evidence of rough terrain or wrong doing on his part.”
