IMPD: Victim robbed near Monon Trail

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers are looking for three people who robbed someone on the Monon Trail.

Police say it happened sometime before 4 a.m. on Sunday. According to a police report, the robbery happened near 61st Street.

According to the police report, an officer responded to the area for the report of a robbery. The officer was flagged down by the victim who said he was walking home with his roommate when they noticed a Dodge Charger near the trail.

The victim told police that two men jumped out of the backseat of the car and approached them and demanded whatever they had. The suspects then punched one of the victims in the face.

The suspects got away with the victim’s cellphone.

Officer say one of the suspects may have had a gun or taser. The victim told police that he believe three people were in the car.
