BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) — Months of problems have led the city of Beech Grove to declare its Wal-Mart a public nuisance.

Last month, 24-Hour News 8 reported Beech Grove police had been called to the store more than 1,000 times in the last two years.

Since our initial story, the store hired off-duty officers.

But last week, a shoplifting at the store led to a shooting inside a local restaurant.

The Beech Grove Motel 6 was also recently named a public nuisance.

The Wal-Mart made national headlines after a fight inside was caught on camera. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
