78-year-old woman dies after I-65 crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 78-year-old Jackson County woman died from injuries received in a crash on I-65 Saturday evening, according to Indiana State Police.

It happened around 5 p.m. on I-65 northbound near County Line Road.

Witnesses told police that a 1994 Chrysler was northbound on I-65 near the County Line Road exit when it attempted to switch lanes. The vehicle, driven by 75-year-old Savoy White, of Noblesville, struck the end of a guardrail, spun out and crashed into a semi.

White and her passenger, 78-year-old Patsie Linville, of Freetown, were taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.

Linville died from her injuries.

The semi driver, William Dawdy, was not injured.
