CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) —  Another local brewery has expansion plans.

This time, it’s Danny Boy Beer Works in Carmel.

The owner, Kevin Paul, plans a new production facility in Michigan. He and his brother hope to open that brewery next summer.

A release from the company said that facility “will produce 7,000 to 10,000 barrels of beer in the first year and eventually increase to 40,000 barrels.”

The brewery will be in St. Clair, about 50 miles northeast of Detroit.

Last month, they opened a new tap room there which allows small scale production.

Paul said the bigger operation will help them distribute the Danny Boy brand beyond Indiana. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
