Power outages reported on city’s northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Around 270 homes were without power after a car hit a power pole on the city’s northeast side on Monday morning.

According to IPL’s outage map, power was out for 273 people. It was not clear if the crash was the cause of the outages.

The crash happened near East 25th Street and Mitthoeffer Road just after 6:30 a.m.

Chopper 8 flew over the scene and captured a car that had hit a power pole and flipped upside down.

Police have both directions of German Church Road and 25th Street closed to clear the scene.

It was not clear what caused the car to hit the power pole.
