Driver of pick-up truck dies after colliding with semi on SW side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police were on the scene of a fatal crash on the city’s southwest side on Wednesday morning.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department dispatchers, the crash happened on South Holt Road and West Minnesota Street just after 5 a.m.

Officials say the crash involved a semi and pick-up truck.

Police say 64-year-old Carl Ford was driving the pick-up disregarded the flashing red lights at the intersection of Holt Road and Minnesota Street. The semi was traveling northbound and could not stop in time to avoid striking the truck.
