INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A popular way to communicate via text message is with emojis and it turns out each state uses one more frequently than the other.

A tech company called Swiftkey put together an interactive map to show each states most popular emoji.

According to Swiftkey, about 74 percent of Americans say they use emojis every day. The company decided to analyze a billion emojis to see how people in each state use them.

In Indiana they found that the top emoji is the video game controller. Other top emjois are the tornado and knife and fork.

According to the study, California’s highest ranked emoji was for a taxi. To no one’s surprise Hawaii’s most used emoji was surfing. Rainbows also ranked high in the state.
