Body of man recovered from Noble County lake
KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (AP) – The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says an autopsy has determined the victim of a possible drowning in a northeastern Indiana lake was a man about 50 years old.
The man was later identified as Dwayne Sparkman, 52, of Kendallville IN. He cause of death was ruled a drowning by the Noble County Coroners Office.
The body was recovered about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday from Bixler Lake in Kendallville, about 25 miles northwest of Kendallville.
Indiana conservation officers and other agencies responded to the Noble County lake about six hours earlier after a caller said a person swimming in the lake was calling for help. The caller said witnesses saw the person go underwater and not resurface.
