INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — 95-years ago Wednesday the then-Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby signed the 19th Amendment and proclaimed it part of the U.S. Constitution.
Jan Wahls joined 24-Hour News 8 at noon to talk about a special event happening Wednesday night to celebrate the anniversary.
Festivities will include speakers Secretary of State Connie Lawson and Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz. The Spotlight Brass Band will also be playing music of the era.
You can also see reenactments highlighting the struggle for the vote, and a musical video view of the movement. There will be fun educational competitions and prizes as well.
