INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was taken into custody Wednesday morning after police say he hit a number of pedestrians at multiple locations downtown after stabbing a woman earlier in the morning.
Police say the home invasion/stabbing happened around 6:45 a.m. in the 3700 block of Roseway Lane. Medics transported a woman with stab wounds to the hospital in stable condition. She told police that her car was stolen by the suspect after the incident.
According to IMPD, that’s when the hit-and-runs began. The first happened at Pennsylvania and Market streets where two pedestrians were struck. The driver, Michael Morris, fled the scene and hit a person at Washington and Meridian streets before he went onto a sidewalk along Meridian Street and hit a pedestrian at the Conrad Hotel. Another person was struck at Illinois and Ohio streets and then a motorcyclist was hit at Michigan and Delaware streets.

A witness to one of the hit-and-runs spoke to 24-Hour News 8 and described what they saw.
“When I looked up, I see this girl flying, airborne … about three feet off the ground,” the man said.
Officers found the vehicle, which belonged to the stabbing victim, abandoned at 30th Street and Cold Spring Road. The suspect was found nearby not long after and taken into custody. He was wearing a shirt that read “Only God can judge me.”
According to police, the victim struck outside the Conrad Hotal was listed in serious condition with massive head injuries.
Detectives questioned the suspect and arrested him on preliminary charges of leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury. Investigators say they were seeking a blood sample, which is standard during these types of incidents.
The victim of the stabbing and the suspect are married according to IMPD. The suspect and victim were house sitting prior to the stabbing.
Police say Morris became violent after consuming illegal drugs.
