Event to offer free Narcan for those with a prescription

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An event this weekend will provide Narcan to anyone who comes to the event.

The 14th annual International Overdose Awareness Day takes place on Sunday.

But this year is different – it’s the first year since Indiana passed Aaron’s Law. The law makes overdose-cancelling Narcan available to the general public.

Anyone who believes someone near them is at risk of overdose can carry the medicine.

Sunday’s event starts at 6 p.m. at Juan Solomon Park.

People who attend can get Narcan and training on how to use it for free.

It’s also a key remembrance event for those who have died from fatal drug overdoses.
