IPS holds community events
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — IPS made a few big announcements this week, starting with their teachers receiving a pay raise.
On Saturday they celebrated with a weekend cookout.
The amount teachers will receive varies depending on their current salary, but starting teachers’ salaries jump 12 percent to $40,000.
School board members also approved what they are calling a new strategic plan in areas they feel need improvement.
IPS released the following details about future community events:
- Bowl-a-Rama at Expo Bowl in Indianapolis – 5261 Elmwood Ave.

A gathering of educators with speakers and activities designed to inspire innovation and excellence in our classrooms. Free refreshments provided.
- Arts & Ed Mixer at the Downtown Artsgarden – 110 W. Washington St.
September 8, 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Gallery-style event full of amazing talent from our district students. It’s sure to be the art social event of the year! Refreshments provided; $10 donation to our Arts education program gratefully accepted.
