Police seek tips in 1986 cold case

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Nearly 30 years after a man’s murder, police are again looking for information that could help solve the case.

Douglas Suns was found shot on Aug. 31, 1986.

A customer at the Kokolene Gas Station in Columbus found his body next to a gas pump.

Suns was taken to a hospital and and was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Detectives believe the murder began as a robbery.

There are no known witnesses and the murder took place in broad daylight.

Investigators said that during the original investigation, a rash of robberies were solved, but the two people arrested have not been tied to the murder.
