GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) — Leaders of a central Indiana county say they need more details before backing plans for a new $30 million fairgrounds.
The Hancock County project is proposed for more than 200 acres of county-owned farmland along U.S. 40 just east of Greenfield. The nonprofit Hancock County Exposition Complex Corp. would lease the land and build a multipurpose exposition center, two arenas and six rental barns.
The Daily Reporter reports two county commissioners said after a Tuesday meeting on the project that they weren’t comfortable signing the lease until they knew more about financing for the project.
The plan under consideration would be double the size of the current county fairgrounds in Greenfield.
