FISHERS, Ind (WISH) – Fishers police are trying to make it safer for people to conduct online transactions.
The department announced Thursday that the public is allowed to use its lobby as a place to meet and sell items. The decision comes after transactions on Websites such as Craigslist have led to robberies.
Several Central Indiana police departments already allow people to use their lobbies. 24-Hour News 8 reached out to Fishers officers to ask what prompted them to do this.
Officers said there wasn’t nothing locally that made them start this, however, they thought it would create a safe option for people.
The public is welcome to use the lobby during normal hours, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
