Walk aims to raise awareness about Huntington’s Disease

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Huntington’s Disease is a progressive brain disorder caused by a defective gene.

The disease results in loss of cognitive, behavioral and physical control. Currently there is no treatment or cure.

A walk on Sept. 12 is hoping to raise awareness about the disease and money for the organization.

Mark Weeks, President of HDSA Indiana and Dr. Kimberly Quaid De Cordon, Professor at IU and Director of Predictive Testing at IU Health’s Huntington’s Disease Center of Excellence, were on 24-Hour News 8 at noon Thursday to talk more about the walk.
