BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Friday morning, crews worked to fix a natural gas leak on IU Bloomington’s campus.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. Friday near the Musical Arts Center. As crews worked to contain the leak, officials closed Jordan Avenue between 3rd and 7th streets.

By 11 a.m., the university said the Bloomington Fire Department has declared the area safe. Jordan Ave. was reopened to traffic but the university asked that people pay attention to construction nearby.

There is no word on what may have caused the gas leak.
