Miracle Mile to benefit animal clinic

kittenCue the “awwww’s!” We got a visit from the cutest kitten today in the Indy Style studios, and for a very good reason! This little one came to help promote the Miracle Mile event that benefits FACE Low Cost Animal Clinic. It’s the third year for the event, which takes place Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10:45 a.m.

FACE Director Megan Bennett says the need for cat-caretakers is profound.

It’s very overwhelming. FACE actually takes all of the stray cats out of Indianapolis Animal Care and Control every year, so it just keeps them off the potential euthanasia floor, and it’s just an ongoing need, we try and get as many kittens and cats fixed as we can, because we gotta keep them out of the shelters”

Ride leaders say there will be two routes for the Miracle Mile Ride: 14 miles and 47 miles. The riders will register at the University of Indianapolis and be led by IMPD to the start line of the Miracle Mile Parade. They’ll kick off the parade by traveling down the parade route before starting on the actual ride routes, and there will also be local dog rescue groups at registration, as well as pet-friendly service providers available to answer any questions. Don’t forget about the prize raffle and a chance for YOU to win one of three baskets filled with bike goodies; doggie goodies and kitty goodies!kitride

For each $5 increment on a Pet Supplies Plus Card or Kroger Gift Card brought to registration, you will receive a ticket for the drawing. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to FACE to help fulfill their wish list on much needed items for the clinic. Ella’s Frozen Yogurt will be selling cool treats with a portion of proceeds going to FACE. Starbucks will be providing coffee and tea as well.

Sponsors of the ride include: Gateway Community Alliance, Pet Supplies Plus, University of Indianapolis and Direct Connect Printing.
