Two dead following crash in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ind (WISH) – A crash in Columbus claimed the life of two people from Hebron Kentucky, according to the Columbus Police Department.
The crash happened on Monday just before 5 p.m. near State Road 46 and Goeller Boulevard.
When police arrived they saw a few Good Samaritans trying to aid the injured couple. The couple was identified as 53-year-old Robert Porter and his wife 53-year-old Vicky Porter.
According to witnesses, the couple was traveling eastbound on SR 46 on their 2002 Honda VTX1800 motorcycle when a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer driven by 63-year-old Sharon Brummett turned in front of them..
The Porter’s were transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital by medical helicopter. Both later died of their injuries.
Police were still investigating the crash as of Tuesday morning.
