Pals on Patrol

When it comes to comfort for a child, there’s often no better friend than a stuffed animal, especially in a crisis situation. Former law enforcement officer Megan Leahy is helping keep the memory of her father alive, with a program called Pals on Patrol. It’s a program that helps provide kids with a stuffed animal during times of trauma, as studies show having and holding a stuffed animal during these times can reduce anxiety and soothe those involved. The program launches today at the Urban Chalkboard in Carmel, and Megan is hoping she can get your support.

All you have to do, is come to tonight’s launch event (Sept. 11) and bring a new or like new stuffed animal to donate to local police, fire and state agencies. If you do, you get $2 off admission, and $1 from every admission goes toward Pals on Patrol. The launch is from 5:30-7pm tonight, with face painting and more.

The program is also accepting donations to help provide storage solutions for the stuffed animals.
