Fever gear up for playoffs

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) -The Indiana Fever are gearing up for a record 11th consecutive playoff appearance this week.  They’ll face the Chicago Sky on Thursday in the opening round.

The Sky have given the Fever major trouble this season; they’re 0-4 against Chicago this year.  Despite being the underdogs in this matchup, this team thinks it can win it all.

“We might be the only people to think that we have the talent to do something in the playoffs, but that’s all it takes,” said Fever guard Briann January.

“I feel like with every single player, we have just a little bit more that we can give,” added Fever forward Tamika Catchings.  “I don’t look at it as us being overachievers.  Our mentality is let’s just play as hard as we can and see.  We’ve talked about what every player on this team is capable of, and when we put it together, we know what we can achieve.”

The series tips at 8pm on Thursday in Chicago.  Game 2 will be played in Indianapolis on Saturday at 7pm.
