Grandmother pleads guilty in neglect case

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — An Anderson woman has pleaded guilty in the neglect of her disabled granddaughter.

Joetta Sells pleaded guilty to 10 of the 12 charges filed against her. All 10 are felonies.

Charges include neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury and criminal confinement.

Her husband, Steve Sells, pleaded guilty last week.

The couple, along with their daughter Crystal, were accused of keeping their mentally disabled granddaughter locked in a room and covered with feces. Investigators said she was badly malnourished.

Joetta Sells is set to be sentenced on Oct. 12.
