TurboRoo steps off as grand marshal of Woofstock’s Parade of Paws

Put your pups on their leashes and get outside for a cause that’ll help keep other pups safe. Dog Day Afternoon featuring Woofstock is an annual fundraiser designed to help the Humane Society care for nearly 3,500 pets that are surrendered or come in as strays each year.

The event kicks off with the annual Parade of Paws Dog Walk, featuring this year’s parade grand marshal, TurboRoo and his sister RubyRoo. Organizers say the walk is so important, as it raises money for their Survivor Program, which is used to pay for any and all emergency and life-saving care that thousands of animals each year may need. Currently, the fund it totally depleted, so the need is more crucial than ever.

The festival is Saturday, Sept. 19th

from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, behind the Fishers City Municipal Center. The festival features cool merchandise for pets and people, food trucks and a beer & wine garden, entertainment and live music. Cost is $5 per person; dogs and military service personnel are free!
