Woman visiting correctional facility now facing drug charges

PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) — A woman who was visiting a central Indiana correctional facility was arrested over the weekend.

According to a release from the Correctional Industrial Facility, a facility investigation resulted in the arrest on Sunday.

Officials say police arrested visitor Brittany Brooks of Anderson on two preliminary counts of trafficking in a controlled substance with an inmate and two counts of possession of marijuana.

Officials say after Brooks consented to a search, 110 strips of suboxone and 6.6 grams of marijuana were confiscated from her. Those items had an estimated value of more than $11,000.
