Secretary of Education visits Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Secretary of Education’s “Ready for Success” tour stopped in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Arne Duncan sat with students from various schools on stage at Arsenal Tech High School.

The tour was a chance for Duncan to hear about some of the challenges students are dealing with, and at the same time to celebrate the successes local districts are having.

Duncan talked about students using the power of social media to tell positive stories about young people, and about the importance of the Fafsa form.

“I don’t care how much money you have, or your family doesn’t have. If you work hard and make good grades there are going to be resources there, so please for the seniors here, please make sure you fill out that form and make it even easier for the juniors next year,” said Duncan.

His week long success tour ends Friday in Pennsylvania.
