Police looking for suspect in deadly northwest side bar fight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department needs your help finding a person of interest they say beat a man to death inside a bar on the city’s northwest side.

Police say the beating happened on Sept. 14 around 2 a.m. in the 3000 block of Lafayette Road. When police arrived to the scene they found a man on the floor who was unconscious and bleeding.

According to witnesses, an unidentified black male was involved in a physical altercation with the victim. After the fight the suspect fled the scene in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The victim, 38-year-old Pablo Hernandez, was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital where he later died of his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

Police say the man pictured is being sought for questioning. Anyone with information should contact IMPD homicide at 327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
