3-year-old in critical condition after hit-and-run

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 3-year-old is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon on the city’s east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Emergency crews were called to the 2800 block of Adams Street, near 28th Street, around 4:15 p.m.

Police say a black Chevrolet Sedan was seen driving away from the scene after hitting the child.

The child was transported to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health with severe leg injuries and was in critical condition Monday morning, police said. They have not released any other information about the child. IMPD has not released details about the suspect in the hit-and-run either.
